FAQs

How do I book an appointment?

Most virtual visits and classes are available to self-schedule 24/7. For home visits, scheduling and availability is dependent on location and travel time. Once booking request is received, we will be in touch with available appointment times. There is often additional availability so please inquire if you need an urgent appointment or alternative time. Do you accept health insurance?

Yes! Jennifer is partnered with The Lactation Network (TLN) and your lactation visit fee could be covered 100% with pre-approval. In general, clients with the following PPO plans may be covered: Anthem, BCBS, Cigna, United (home visit only) and VA-CCN. In addition, if you see the Provider Network of America (PNOA) or Multi-plan logo on your insurance card (regardless of carrier), you may be covered! You can start the pre-approval process here.

Do you provide Superbills for visits not covered directly by insurance?

Yes! For all self-pay visits, a Superbill can be provided with medical coding to file with your insurance carrier or health sharing plan for possible reimbursement. 

What payment types are accepted for services?

We accept all major credit cards, FSA/HSA cards and Apple Pay via Stripe. Alternative payment methods are available by request and include: Zelle, Venmo and Paypal. 

What is your financial policy?

For self-pay clients, you will be invoiced after checkout. For TLN pre-approved clients, you will be invoiced for the required $25 booking fee (telehealth) or travel fee if applicable.  Appointments are first come first served and not confirmed until full payment is received. What is your cancellation policy?

For cancellations >24 hours before scheduled time, a one time courtesy will be given to reschedule to another available time or you may receive a full refund less any payment processing fees. 

For cancellations <24 hours before scheduled time, you are responsible for 50% of the full visit fee whether self-pay or TLN pre-approved. Card on file will be charged or you will be invoiced for any balance due. 

 

For no-shows, you are responsible for full visit fee and there are no refunds. For TLN pre-approved clients, your card on file will be charged or you will be invoiced for any balance due. 

What is your service area?

Home visits are available in the Upstate, SC area and travel fee is included in visit fee within the standard services area. Travel to an extended service area may be available and will incur an additional travel fee of $50 (whether self pay or insurance pre-approved) due at time of booking. 

Virtual Lactation Consultations and classes are available nationwide.

Lactation Medicine visit service area varies and is dependent on Nurse Practitioner licensure. Full advanced practice nursing services including diagnosis, treatment, lab orders and prescriptions are available in FL, IA, ID, NE, NM & VT. Diagnosis, non-prescription treatments and lab orders available in WV. Counseling and consulting services (no medical care, Rx, labs, etc) are available in SC and TX.

What do I need to do before my visit?

Once payment is received, you will be sent a portal invite, consent for care and any intake forms. Please complete at your earliest convenience and these need to be received back by 8 pm the evening before your scheduled visit at the latest or your visit may need to be rescheduled.
