Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?

Most virtual visits are available to self-schedule 24/7. There is often additional availability so please inquire if you need an urgent appointment or alternative time. You can view appointment calendar here or learn more about service offerings here

Do you accept health insurance?

Yes! Jennifer is partnered with The Lactation Network (TLN) for insurance covered visits under a variety of PPO plans like Anthem, BCBS, Multiplan, PNOA, United (home visits only) and VA-CCN.  Jennifer is also partnered with Wildflower for CIGNA covered visits. Your lactation visit fee could be covered 100% with pre-approval. You can start the pre-approval process here.

Do you provide Superbills for visits not covered directly by insurance?

Yes! For all self-pay visits, a Superbill can be provided with medical coding to file with your insurance carrier or health sharing plan for possible reimbursement. 

What payment types are accepted for services?

We accept all major credit cards, FSA/HSA cards and Apple Pay via Stripe. Payment plans are also available through Stripe.

What is your financial policy?

For self-pay clients, you will be invoiced for the visit fee and insurance-covered clients will be invoiced for any applicable travel fee. Appointments are first come first served and not confirmed until full payment is received. You can view the full policy here

What is your cancellation policy?

For cancellations >24 hours before scheduled time, a one time courtesy will be given to reschedule to another available time or you may receive a full refund less any payment processing fees.

For cancellations <24 hours before scheduled time, you are responsible for 50% of the full visit fee whether self-pay or insurance pre-approved. Card on file will be charged or you will be invoiced for any balance due. 

 

For no-shows, you are responsible for full visit fee and there are no refunds. 

What is your service area?

IBCLC services are available via Telehealth nationwide.

Lactation Medicine visit service area varies and is dependent on Nurse Practitioner licensure. Full advanced practice nursing services including diagnosis, treatment, lab orders and prescriptions are available in FL, IA, ID, NE, NM & VT. Diagnosis, non-prescription treatments and lab orders available in CO and WV. Counseling and consulting services plus self-ordered labs (no medical services) are available in SC and TX.

What do I need to do before my visit?

After you choose your preferred appointment date and time, you will be sent a consent and intake form through the secure patient portal. Please complete at your earliest convenience and these need to be received back by 24 hours before your scheduled visit at the latest. You will also be invoiced for your visit fee if applicable and payment in full is due 24 hours before your scheduled visit.
